It's impossible to live in a such wonderful place as Dilijan and never think of art...

Ghazaryan's familyGhazar Ghazaryan was born in 1949 in Dilijan, Armenia. In 1974 he graduated from the Yerevan Academy of Fine Arts, the faculty of Painting. He is a member of the Armenian Artists' Union since 1982. Since 1976 Ghazar Ghazaryan has taken part in numerous expositions, including international ones. Paintings by Ghazar Ghazaryan are exhibited in the galeries of Yerevan, Moscow, Hrazdan, Dilijan and Martuni, as well as in many private collections abroad. Since1998 he is the Dean of Dilijan Branch of Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts.

The artist's style is realistic and romantic at the same time. His paintings display Armenian national vision of colour. His impressions, thoughts and feelings are reflected in his drawings and paintings.

He is the author of numerous portraits, genre, still life and landscape paintings. The counterbalance of sentiments and thoughts is the chief magnetic force of the artist's creative works.

Nune & Ghazar GhazaryanPresidium of Armenian Branch of International Academy of Sciences of Nature and Society in 15.04.2003 has awarded Ghazar Ghazaryan with the title of Honorary Doctor of Armenian Branch.  In artists' families the choice of profession is often predetermined; painter's son and daughter have chosen the same way. His daughter is a graphic designer by profession, she has graduated from Yerevan State University, faculty of Decorative Art. His son was a student of  Graphic Arts Chair of the Academy of Fine Arts and now he is a lecturer in the Dilijan Branch of the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts. Wife of Ghazar Ghazaryan is a master of folk art. Her Makramees on the subject of Christianity, Armenia, with the unique 3D khachkar(stone cross) ornament, are presented in museums of traditional art in Armenia.
